Installing

  1. Open the downloaded disk image.
  2. Drag Sifaro into the Applications folder. This step is not optional. macOS will not let an app install its VPN component while the app is running from the disk image.
  3. Open Sifaro from Applications.

The two permissions macOS asks for

A VPN on macOS needs a network extension, and the system asks you about it twice. Both are normal, and Sifaro cannot connect until both are granted.

1. Allow the network extension

Shortly after you first open the app, macOS shows an alert about a system extension. Open System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions, find Network Extensions near the bottom, and turn Sifaro on. Your Mac will ask for your password — that is macOS asking, not us.

2. Allow the VPN configuration

The first time you press Connect, macOS asks whether Sifaro may add VPN configurations. Choose Allow.

After that, connecting is a single tap and neither prompt returns.

If it does not connect

Check that Sifaro is switched on under Login Items & Extensions → Network Extensions. If it is missing there entirely, the app was most likely opened from the disk image rather than from the Applications folder; drag it across and open it again.

If a location will not connect, try another one from the list — a single server can be temporarily unreachable.

Verifying the download

The app and the disk image are signed with Allion LLC's Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS checks them for you when you open the image. To check the file yourself, run this in Terminal and compare it with the value above:

Windows

Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. This build is not code signed, and the section below says exactly what Windows will do about that.

Windows will warn you, and it is not wrong to. Opening the file brings up “Windows protected your PC” with an unknown publisher, because we have not bought a code-signing certificate. Choose More info, then Run anyway. If that sentence makes you uncomfortable, check the hash above before you do — that is what it is for.

Installing

  1. Extract the whole folder from the zip.
  2. Run sifaro.exe from inside that folder. Moving the .exe out on its own does not work: it needs the DLLs and the data folder beside it.
  3. Press Connect.

What this version covers, and what it does not

The Windows build works through the Windows system proxy. Browsers and software that follow that setting go through the server; software that ignores it connects directly, and this version cannot carry it. That is a real limitation, not a formality — it is worth knowing before you rely on it.

If your internet stops working

If the app is killed while connected, the proxy setting can be left behind and nothing reaches the internet. Opening Sifaro again repairs it — it clears a stale setting at startup. By hand: Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy, turn Use a proxy server off, then close and reopen the browser.

Paying for it

The first hour comes with the app. After that, the Mac and Windows builds are unlocked with an activation code rather than a subscription — there is no store behind them, so there is nothing to buy inside them. Ask for a code on the support page and enter it under Settings. The same code works where cards and app stores do not.

نسخهٔ ویندوز از طریقِ پروکسیِ سیستم کار می‌کند: مرورگرها و برنامه‌هایی که این تنظیم را رعایت می‌کنند از سرور عبور می‌کنند و بقیه مستقیم وصل می‌شوند. این یک محدودیتِ واقعی است، نه تشریفات.

اگر اینترنتتان قطع شد: اگر برنامه crash کند ممکن است تنظیمِ پروکسی جا بماند. کافی است Sifaro را دوباره باز کنید — خودش درستش می‌کند. دستی: Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy و «Use a proxy server» را خاموش کنید، بعد مرورگر را ببندید و باز کنید.

هیچ حسابی لازم نیست. یک ساعتِ اول رایگان است. نسخه‌های مک و ویندوز از فروشگاه نمی‌آیند، پس داخلشان چیزی برای خرید نیست و با یک کدِ فعال‌سازی باز می‌شوند: کد را از صفحهٔ پشتیبانی بگیرید و در Settings وارد کنید.

  1. 下载并打开 .dmg 文件。

macOS 会问两次权限：一次是网络扩展（到 System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Network Extensions 里把 Sifaro 打开），一次是添加 VPN 配置。两个弹窗都是系统本身的，不是我们的。

Windows

  1. 下载 .zip，解压整个文件夹。
  2. 在文件夹里面运行 sifaro.exe——把它单独拿出来不能用。
  3. Windows 会说发布者未知，因为这个版本没有代码签名。点 More info，再点 Run anyway。

这个版本能覆盖什么：Windows 版通过系统代理工作。遵循这个设置的浏览器和软件会走服务器； 不遵循的会直接联网，这个版本无法代理它们。这是真实的限制，不是客套话。

如果上不了网：程序被强制结束后，代理设置可能残留。重新打开 Sifaro 就会自动修复。 手动：Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy，关掉 「Use a proxy server」，然后关闭并重新打开浏览器。

不需要注册。第一个小时免费。Mac 版和 Windows 版不来自应用商店，所以里面没有可购买的项目， 要用激活码解锁：在支持页面索取，然后在 Settings 里输入。

macOS спросит разрешение дважды: один раз про сетевое расширение — включите Sifaro в System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Network Extensions — и один раз про добавление конфигурации VPN. Оба окна системные, не наши.

Windows

  1. Скачайте .zip и распакуйте всю папку целиком.
  2. Запустите sifaro.exe изнутри этой папки — вынести его отдельно не получится.
  3. Windows скажет, что издатель неизвестен: эта сборка не подписана. Нажмите More info, затем Run anyway.

Что эта версия покрывает: версия для Windows работает через системный прокси. Браузеры и программы, которые учитывают эту настройку, идут через сервер; остальные подключаются напрямую, и эта версия не может их провести. Это реальное ограничение, а не формальность.

Если интернет перестал работать: после аварийного завершения настройка прокси может остаться. Просто откройте Sifaro снова — он всё исправит. Вручную: Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy, выключите «Use a proxy server», затем закройте и откройте браузер.

Аккаунт не нужен. Первый час бесплатно. Версии для Mac и Windows не из магазина, поэтому внутри нечего покупать — они открываются кодом активации: запросите код на странице поддержки и введите его в Settings.
